Alisa Orduna

Alisa Orduña has been a practitioner, policy analyst, collaborator and thought leader in the urban community development field for the past 25 years. It is her life mission to re-imagine neighborhoods as beloved communities where residents of all diversity have a sense of belonging and resources to thrive. During her career, she has worked on the cutting edge of policy formation and change management in neighborhood development and homelessness services in both the public and nonprofit sectors in major cities including Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Santa Monica, CA. Alisa’s work in Los Angeles has included prominent roles at the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti, and the City Manager’s Office in the City of Santa Monica. She has served on the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) Ad-Hoc Committee on Women Experiencing Homelessness and on the Ad-Hoc Committee of Black People Experiencing Homelessness. Alisa is well-respected in the field and has presented in numerous national forums.

Anna Bialik  brings over 15 years of experience working within the housing

and homeless services community. She advises communities across the country in system improvement work aimed at improving health and housing outcomes for our most vulnerable citizens.  Previously, she worked as the Funding and Procurement Manager for the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, a joint powers authority of the City and County of Los Angeles, where she oversaw over $200 million dollars in grant-making annually.  Anna has served on medical missions in the Amazon Rainforest and in Chetumal, Mexico.  When Anna was a teen,

she volunteered in the Appalachian Mountains at a Catholic Worker Farm that offered permanent supportive housing to men from the Washington D.C. area. 

She has never forgotten the men

she met there. Anna holds a B.A. from Georgetown University.

and delivering courses that

of ending homelessness. She

draws on her experience on the

front lines to inform

housing-focused learning

Anthony Ruffin

Senior Consultant

Anthony Jamal Ruffin  is a highly skilled

case manager and supervisor with

seventeen years of experience working

with some of the most challenging underserved populations in Los Angeles, including those experiencing chronic

mental and physical health symptoms

and homelessness. Anthony has participated in the piloting and implementation of new programs in Los Angeles targeting the most vulnerable and at-risk homeless persons

living on the streets or in hospitals in Los Angeles, including the pilot FUSE programs, SIF, and Hollywood Top 14. Prior to working with Housing Works, Anthony served as an Outreach Specialist and Supervisor

with OPCC working in programs,

like Project Safety Net, serving this same population.

Amber Roth

For the past 23 years, Amber Roth, a

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has devoted her career to serving difficult-to-reach populations and underserved communities. Amber has led critical initiatives and developed programs that drive systems change by increasing access to housing, healthcare, and employment for vulnerable individuals and families. She brings over 18 years of nonprofit leadership experience, having led teams to develop and implement innovative services and training programs in homeless services and workforce development. Amber also has extensive knowledge and experience in clinical interventions, program development, organizational assessment, cultural transformation, change management, strategic planning, capacity building, and leadership development. She is passionate about creating service delivery systems and workforce development strategies that

build connections, improve lives,

and support healthy communities.

Connor Johnson

Senior Consultant

After beginning his career as a Case Manager in the Skid Row area of Los Angeles providing services and housing for people experiencing homelessness, Connor T. Johnson has spent the last 13 years working with extremely vulnerable individuals in supportive housing, program development and systems change. Connor attended UCLA to pursue a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning focused on Housing and Community Economic Development. After completing his master’s degree, Connor worked at Los Angeles County Housing for Health before moving to Washington D.C. to manage supportive housing programs for families and individuals. In the last five years Connor has worked as a national consultant at Corporation for Supportive Housing and as an independent contractor. He has worked in partnership with cities, counties and states to increase access to supportive housing, services, and healthcare provision. Connor has worked in both large urban and rural communities across the country and is currently based in Los Angeles. In addition to supportive housing consulting, Connor is a certified yoga and meditation instructor and develops holistic wellness events in both Los Angeles and Minneapolis.

Apryle Brodie provides senior project management support for the Change Well Project. She has over 11+ years of experience working in the Homeless sector. Before joining this project, Apryle worked as the senior project manager for Mayor Eric Garcetti, where she oversaw 30 capital projects that provided interim housing for people experiencing homelessness. Her work includes managing small to large-scale projects, policy, advocacy, program outcomes, and project management. Apryle is the co-founder of D.R.E.W. Projects, a 501(c)(3) Los Angeles non-profit organization, helping local and global non-profit organizations build stronger communities by dedicating resources through D.R.E.W. Projects Initiatives.
